*All funds pay for the airfare, lodging, and stipends of our clinicians. Having said that, wrestling is for everyone. If there is a financial hardship, please send us an email or communicate with us directly to see what can be done.
- Camp T-Shirt: Every camper will receive a camp t-shirt and other prizes.
- Friday Afternoon Activity: We do a fun activity after hard first day of wresting. Our camp takes place at Riverside Recreation, so it is usually water-related. In the past we have gone out on boats and paddleboards and other aquatic activities on Flathead Lake.
- Clinician: Ty Loethen is a Beach Wrestling World Bronze Medalist and current UWW Beach Wrestling Athlete. He is a collegiate All-American from the University of Central Missouri, as well as a state champion in Missouri and three time state placer. He owns a multifaceted martial arts and fitness gym in Columbia, MO. He is also a wrestling coach and movie stunt person.
- Clinician: Eliana Bommarito is a Beach Wrestling World Gold Medalist. She is a 2x NJCAA National Champion from Indian Hills Community College (MI). Outstanding Wrestler at 2023 Nationals. Undefeated collegiately. Scholar All-American. She is the first 4x Michigan State Champion. 2x Fargo National Champion. Eliana is currently finishing her Bachelors at Alma College in Michigan, and still dominating in beach wrestling.
- Technique: This camp will be an opportunity to learn about the basics of beach wrestling. We will cover beginner level to advanced level technique of beach wrestling.
- Beach wrestling is paramount in make better mat wrestlers. Folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco all benefit from beach wrestling. Since beach is wrestled from your feet, it really helps with balance, movement, and throws. The beach is a great place to practice moves safely in the sand that can translate to the mat in the winter. Even if you have no wrestling experience, beach or otherwise, it is a lot of fun!
- Beach wrestling is the fastest growing discipline right now in wrestling, with talks of being offered in the 2032 Olympics in Australia!
- Accommodations: We have numerous hotels located in Polson. The Kwataqnuk Hotel & Casino is offering a discount for anyone coming to the camp.
- Dry campsites will be available at the venue on Thursday and Friday night for athletes, parents, and coaches needing a place to stay. Athletes must be accompanied by an adult. Please email: thestoicathletics@gmail.com if you plan on staying on sight for free.
- What to Bring: Shorts, bathing suits, t-shirt, plenty of water, lunch, sunscreen, sandals. Foldable chairs for sitting and spectating.
- Optional: Pop-tents for shade. Tent & sleeping bag if you are staying at Riverside Rec. Running shoes for the non-mandatory run with Ty & Eliana on Thursday night.
